Getting Started with Maildesk

Create your account, complete the onboarding wizard, and find your way around the Maildesk dashboard.

Welcome to Maildesk! This guide walks you through your first session — from signing up to knowing exactly where everything lives.

Create your account

  1. Go to app.maildesk.io/auth/register and sign up with your email and a password, or use Sign in with Google.
  2. Check your inbox for a verification email and click the link inside. Some actions — like adding a sending domain — require a verified email address, so it’s worth doing this right away.

Complete the onboarding wizard

After signing up, Maildesk walks you through a short four-step setup. You can skip it and come back later, but completing it now saves time.

Step 1 — Tell us about your business

Fill in your Business Name, pick your Industry (SaaS, E-commerce, Agency, Education, Real Estate, or Other), and write a short Business Description. Two sentences is enough — Maildesk uses this to help personalize your tone of voice.

Step 2 — Choose your brand’s voice

Pick the tone that best matches how you write: Professional, Friendly, Playful, or Minimalist.

Step 3 — Connect your domain

This is the most important step. Enter:

  • Domain Name — the domain you’ll send from, e.g. example.com
  • Sending Name — the name recipients see in their inbox
  • Sending Email Address — just the part before the @, e.g. reginald (your domain is appended automatically)
  • Tracking Subdomain — e.g. links, used for open and click tracking

Step 4 — Done!

The completion screen shows your next steps — most importantly, adding your DNS records. DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, so start early. Follow the Connect your sending domain guide to finish this.

Find your way around

The main navigation bar has everything:

SectionWhat it’s for
DashboardSubscriber growth charts and totals at a glance
SubscribersYour contact list — import, search, filter, and edit contacts
CampaignsOne-off email broadcasts and your saved templates
AutomationsEmail Sequences, Automations, and Tags (in the dropdown)
FormsEmbeddable signup forms with styling and analytics
SettingsDomain, billing, workspace members, social links, API keys, and webhooks

What to do next

  1. Connect and verify your sending domain — you can’t send email until this is done.
  2. Import your subscribers — bring your list over from a CSV.
  3. Send your first campaign — put it all together.
